Their are plenty of ways to prevent waste are but we can all start with basics
- Not to buy more than is required
- Write a shopping list and stick to it
- Shop locally, reducing food miles and packaging
- Shop more frequently but buy less
- Avoid two for one offers – they are usually things that may not otherwise be purchased!
- Avoid disposable products
- Get plastic bottles re-filled at the Farm Shop

Packaging
Buying in the supermarket may be unavoidable, however there are ways to minimise the packaging that is taken home:
- Buy unpackaged, loose - fruit & veg. also avoid those flimsy plastic bags to put it in!
- Bananas – leave the plastic price tags at the till
- Look out for 100% compostable packaging (even the plastic film)

Re –fill Plastic Bottles at Lochaber Farm Shop
