Help your community reduce its heating bills and stay warm this winter.

The Lochaber Environmental Group (LEG) is offering an opportunity for community groups or interested individuals to get involved in the ‘Lochaber Initiative for Fuel and Energy’ (LIFE) Project.

As we all know, heating bills have been steadily increasing and are expected to take another big jump this winter, with CENTRICA announcing a 25% increase in wholesale gas prices. The LIFE Project plans to provide free training to anyone who would like to help individuals and families in their community to reduce their fuel bills. Support will be provided in a number of different ways.

The training, which would normally cost around £900 per person, is being met in full by LEG. It is hoped that, over the coming winter, perhaps 20-30 homes in each person’s community could have a free thermal imaging survey – which would normally cost over £200 each – followed by a discussion regarding the options for draught-proofing or improving insulation levels, with a package of information available to illustrate the different options, including the grants / loans available to help different homeowners.

If you think you might be interested in getting involved in this project, please contact Robert or Justine Dunn on 01967-402453 or life@lochaber-environmental-group.org.uk or justinerob@lycos.com.
