Master Composter
Lochaber Master Composter Programme The aim of the Master Composter programme is to encourage people to take responsibility for the waste that they produce, and to give them the support that they need in order to compost their food and garden waste at home. This is being achieved by training volunteers to go out into their local communities and promote home composting, by running workshops, giving talks or helping people on an individual basis. The MC Programme has been running in Lochaber since Autumn 2008. We now have an enthusiastic network of Master Composter volunteers giving talks to groups; visiting primary schools; carrying out local surveys and giving individual help and advice to friends and neighbours around
Volunteers To date we have volunteers in Arisaig; Lochaline; Glencoe; Kinlochleven; Glenuig; Acharacle; Spean Bridge; Fort William; Inverlochy; Ardgour; Strontian; Onich; Lochailort and Eigg. To find a Master Composter in your area click here. However we still have a few gaps in the Lochaber map, and would like to recruit more volunteers to spread the home composting word.
